What does a relief worker need? Trust in God, motivation, and empathy. So says Elke Nothaft from Southern Germany, who was most recently deployed to Nepal. Her volunteer commitment did not begin quite by chance.

Would I like to help out? Gladly! But how? Questions like this have been coming up again and again—even in New Apostolic congregations—with regard to the influx of refugees to Europe. The Church's leadership has not merely contented itself with launching appeals, but is also offering help to the helpers.

Helping hand in hand: that is how New Apostolic congregations have been helping refugees for months—most often together with other Christians, initiatives, and organizations. Infrastructural support is also coming increasingly from the Church leadership.

Jeandré, a 15-year old boy from Elspark congregation in Germiston, Gauteng Province, in South Africa has been declared a local hero. He ran into a burning house and rescued a woman in her forties out of the burning kitchen just before the ceiling collapsed.

When millions of brothers and sisters in faith around the globe are once again united for this year's Pentecost divine service, the New Apostolic Church will be celebrating a special anniversary: for the last 25 years, the Great Transmission has also been sent out to all the nations, namely by satellite. Following are some insights into what is not exactly every-day infrastructure:

“Labour in love” was the motto that Chief Apostle Schneider laid into the hearts of the New Apostolic people around the world at the beginning of last year. What have the congregations done with it? nac.today asked the district churches.

The 120 girls and boys will have had a lot to tell when they returned home to South Africa after their eleven-day concert tour in Germany. They also shared their impressions with nac.today.

Zurich. The countdown is on. On 1 January 2015 nac.today will go online. The new news magazine of the New Apostolic Church International (NACI) will offer interesting and valuable reports from around the world for New Apostolic Christians and other interested readers with.

Manila/Zurich. The Philippine government has honoured the relief organization of the New Apostolic Church South-East Asia. NACSEA Relief, together with 130 partner organizations, helped in advocating basic education for more than 21 million Filipino students.

Munich/Zurich. The first ever International Church Convention of the New Apostolic Church came to an end on Sunday evening. Blessed with beaming sunshine and, for the most part, high summer temperatures, Christians from many parts of the world celebrated their faith with great enthusiasm over the space of three days. Some 50,000 participants assembled in Munich’s Olympia Park for the International Church Convention, which took place over the Pentecost weekend from 6-8 June 2014. Organisers have concluded that the event was a great success.

Munich/Zurich. A divine service from Munich transmitted around the world by satellite—millions of New Apostolic Christians on all continents witnessed the Pentecost service conducted by their Church leader, Jean-Luc Schneider. In the Olympia Stadium in the Bavarian capital alone there were 50,000 believers. In his Pentecost message, the Chief Apostle called upon the believers to become even more active in love for God and their neighbour, emphasising that “it is more blessed to give than to receive.”

In 2006 a basic primary school was built in “Mile 9” in Sierra Leone, 91 miles away from the capital city of Freetown, through the initiative of members of the New Apostolic Church.

Düsseldorf. The four-day European Youth Day 2009 organised by the New Apostolic Church drew to a peaceful conclusion on Sunday, 24 May 2009 with a closing divine service in the LTU-Arena in Düsseldorf.
