God is eternal, our own earthly existence is limited. God is omnipotent, whereas we often feel powerless. God’s thoughts are much higher than the human mind can comprehend. How can we then worship God appropriately? Following are some inspiring thoughts underlining our annual motto “Prayer works!”

Why do we pray the way we pray? And isn’t it irrelevant what posture we take when we pray? Whether we pray standing, sitting, or lying down, or have our hands folded or our arms wide open—does it really matter? Well, this much is clear, sometimes a gesture or a posture is worth a thousand words.

Prayer has always been an important part of our life, but this year it became just a little bit more so thanks to our motto. Brothers and sisters from Ghana, Germany, and the Netherlands used this year’s annual motto “Prayer works!” as an opportunity to put on a short play and to gather with other denominations and pray outside our church walls.

Prayer, good sound, and a job opportunity. Not only individuals, but also congregations and the Church set themselves goals at the beginning of a year. And some have started to work towards them. And as always, God is there to support and motivate them.

It has been a year of serving and reigning with Christ. There were highs and lows. As the year winds down to its close, we invite you to take a look back with us at the key points of the District Apostles’ Spotlight articles.

This is my church and I am proud to be part of it. This is how many New Apostolic Christians feel about their church and gladly share their faith by testifying of it in various ways and making it visible to other people.

Two striking slogans, “Christ, our future!” and “Together in Christ”, are followed by a somewhat more ambitious motto this year: “Serving and reigning with Christ”. The motto is worth examining more closely, as are the corresponding logos.

Jesus can be experienced everywhere: in everyday life, in our congregation, in emergency situations—this is the message the divine services in January will convey. The sermons in January will look at the relationship that we believers have with our Lord Jesus Christ and explore it from different angles.

“Together in Christ” is not free, but it gives infinitely more strength than it costs. To close the year, we look back on the different aspects emphasised by the District Apostles in the Spotlight series reflecting the 2022 motto.
