Almost nine million members in nearly 190 countries
The New Apostolic Church is active in almost all countries on all continents. Africa is home to the majority of members. Countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia top the list. At its recent conference in Johannesburg, the District Apostle Meeting made a slight adjustment to the worldwide membership figures.

New District Apostle Helper for the Cape
District Apostle Noel Edward Barnes will turn 66 this year. He is responsible for the New Apostolic Church Cape and is approaching retirement age. In view of his pending retirement a District Apostle Helper will be commissioned: Apostle John Leslie Kriel. The congregations in the District Apostle Area were informed about this last Sunday.

New District Apostle Area: Northern and Eastern Germany
District Apostle Wilfried Klingler will go into retirement in June 2016. He is responsible for the New Apostolic Church in four German states: Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, and Thuringia. Legally, the Church in this part of Germany is registered under the name Neuapostolische Kirche Mitteldeutschland (New Apostolic Church Central Germany). Beginning with the District Apostle’s retirement, this region will merge with the District Apostle Area of Northern Germany.

Our understanding of ministry is being revised
“After the Catechism is before the Catechism …” This was the motto that accompanied the introduction of this fundamental reference work in December 2012. And driven by this motto, the District Apostle Meeting continues to work on fundamental concepts. Currently in the District Apostles’ focus is our concept of ministry.

Invitation to the international youth convention in 2019
From 30 May to 2 June 2019 there will be a remake of the European Youth Day—this time with participants from around the world. “I hope to see many young people from all over the world in Düsseldorf on Ascension 2019,” Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider says.

International youth convention planned for 2019
“We can hardly imagine under what horrible circumstances many people have to live!” the Chief Apostle prayed at the beginning of the District Apostles’ conference in Johannesburg in South Africa. Afterwards there was much to discuss and to decide for the District Apostles.

Fall conference of the District Apostles in Johannesburg
Two times each year, all District Apostles and District Apostle Helpers of the world come together for a District Apostle Meeting. They debate globally strategic topics that are of significance for the overall leadership of the Church. In October this meeting will take place in Johannesburg in South Africa.

Europe looks toward Düsseldorf: Divine service for ministers on Sunday morning
On coming Sunday all of Europe will be looking toward Düsseldorf, in the best sense of the word. Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider, the six District Apostles of Europe, and the Apostles of the District Church of North Rhine-Westphalia will be the hosts of this divine service for ministers originating in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Help for helpers
Would I like to help out? Gladly! But how? Questions like this have been coming up again and again—even in New Apostolic congregations—with regard to the influx of refugees to Europe. The Church's leadership has not merely contented itself with launching appeals, but is also offering help to the helpers.

Collecting, lending a hand, caring: refugee aid is a community project
Helping hand in hand: that is how New Apostolic congregations have been helping refugees for months—most often together with other Christians, initiatives, and organizations. Infrastructural support is also coming increasingly from the Church leadership.
