More than 70 years of history are contained within the walls of the church building to which the newly established congregation of Limburg in the Netherlands recently moved. The church is listed as a historic building, a good reason to tell its story today—on the International Day for Monuments and Sites.

Two months after the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will be visiting the congregation of Istanbul in Turkey. How are the people holding up in Turkey? And how is the Church responding to the disaster?

No matter where you are, you can still receive the word of God, provided you have a smart phone or other smart device to access the internet. Because God easily reaches beyond any church building with His word.

School is not the only place where one can learn something. One can also do so in church. Tomorrow, 24 January is the International Day of Education. Here are a few examples how the New Apostolic Church is involved in teaching its members.

The charity NAC SEA Relief provides help where it can. Thanks to the pastoral network of the New Apostolic Church in the Philippines, the charity can intervene quickly and sometimes also in unusual ways. The charity just published its annual report for 2021.

There is lots going on in the New Apostolic Church. This week’s focus is on the building of churches and apiaries, and the building of skills.

Learning in Sunday School or Religious Instruction—children are quite familiar with that from Church. But it is something quite special when the Church also makes it possible for students to learn math and do sports through the week. The story of how education can break the spiral of poverty—here are some examples to mark World Literacy Day on September 8th.

No one can see into the future, except God. But we can all plan for tomorrow. This is something that New Apostolic congregations do by minimising their impact on the environment, by being there for the upcoming generations, or seeing to sustainable development.

The bricks travelled 40 kilometres from Hamburg-Borgfelde to Doosthof. These were the first bricks that were owned by the New Apostolic Church. Almost 80 years later, these historic bricks still adorn a church building.

The pandemic is still keeping many members from coming back to worship in their congregations. Yet they can receive the word of God. For God’s word easily reaches beyond the four walls of a church building.

Different from the usual: first, he worked for the Church and then he went to church. Barely retired, he is starting over in a completely different field, but this time without pay. Deacon Frank Sardar from Pakistan is back to doing what he loves, namely helping children.

“We have realised that there is no end in sight to this calamity.” This is how the charity of the New Apostolic Church in the Philippines describes the situation after Typhoon Odette devastated parts of the country. Among the many NGOs that have responded are also four New Apostolic charities.

It seems as though the whole island is excited about the upcoming weekend: the Chief Apostle will be conducting a divine service on São Tomé and Príncipe. The thought is not so far-fetched, considering that nearly ten per cent of the population is New Apostolic. The Church has not even existed there all that long…

Joy and sadness often exist side by side. While some can come together and celebrate again, others are struggling to come to terms with destruction. Let’s pray for all.
