High above the city—the centre of the congregation
You can’t help but notice it: Argentina’s Eldorado Km 9 church is located high above the city and features a unique mixture of various styles and time periods. Built by the members themselves, it has always been a mighty fortress through the years, and this year it celebrates its 85-year anniversary.

Prayer works everywhere
Prayer has always been an important part of our life, but this year it became just a little bit more so thanks to our motto. Brothers and sisters from Ghana, Germany, and the Netherlands used this year’s annual motto “Prayer works!” as an opportunity to put on a short play and to gather with other denominations and pray outside our church walls.

Under the same roof
Not every New Apostolic congregation has its own church building. Some congregations gather under a tree, others in other Christian churches. Every now and then a new building can be dedicated. And sometimes it happens that a church even becomes a home away from home to another denomination.

Thinking peace
There are many slogans about peace. Perhaps the best known is “Make love, not war”, an anti-war slogan. A Christian motto is “Peace amidst our earthly fears”. This comes from Jesus Himself.

The good friend
She is a woman and originally a Gentile, and yet she is mentioned by name in Jesus’ family tree. If Ruth had not broken with convention, everything would have been different.

Forgiveness is not a question of mathematics
At the beginning of the gospel already, Peter wanted to know how often he would have to forgive his neighbour. More often than you think, was the answer of the Son of God to this question. For us Christians today it is crystal clear. Or maybe not?

“Onward, upward, homeward…” in stereo
When Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider sets off for the Good Friday divine service, he will also be following a cultural connection that will most likely be familiar to friends of modern art. It has to do with a sculpture that reminds us of a hymn from our choir book: "Onward, upward, homeward..." — a brief page view:
